SPECIAL NOTICE:

Personnel at the state police  Port Norris station have been temporarily relocated to the state police Bivalve Marine station while work is being done on their barracks, state police officials announced Thursday.

The Bivalve Marine Station, located at 2669 Ogden Ave. in Port Norris, is only four miles from the permanent station.The phone number will remain the same, (856) 785-0036.  
In the event of an emergency, callers should still use 9-1-1.

Currently, we are participating with the County Office of Emergency Management to update the
municipality’s Hazard Mitigation Plan.  The original plan was adopted several years ago and needs to be updated to maintain eligibility for certain federal grants as well as make sure we are working together to reduce the risk from natural disasters and hazards to the extent possible.  If you are interested in learning more about this project, please visit the project website at

Lawrence Township is located in the central part of southern Cumberland County. It includes an abundance of productive farmland, beautiful natural areas, including streams, lakes and wetlands and the village of Bay Point on the Delaware Bay.  The unincorporated historic village of Cedarville is  the commercial, residential and governmental center of this Township that covers 38.5 sq. miles.
